I have completed posting all the gallery-quality, soda-fired pots still available on my Etsy shop (see Blasts from the Past post below). Several pieces have already sold. This is truly the end of Kristen Kieffer soda-fired pots…nine years of spraying and wadding. I miss the blushes and variations. The vessel below is one of my favorites.

Blasts from the past–On Sale
I have finally posted some work on my Etsy shop. For the uninitiated, this is a site that allows artists and craftspeople to post and sell work in a user-friendly format. Only one click away, it is the next best thing to having a cart on this site, allows for more visibility, and is easy for me to use. I hope you will check it out.
Ironically, the work I just posted is not new work. When I transitioned from cone 10 soda reduction to cone 7 electric (two very different firing processes resulting in different glazed surfaces), and finally had enough new electric work to show, I ceased showing the soda work for the most part. (The two palettes did not compliment one another.) With several pieces left of gallery-quality, soda-fired work that needs a home, I decided to begin posting them on etsy. I still have a fondness for them. My favorite of the lot (all teapots) I posted tonight is below (no. four). (These pieces are marked as discontinued and over half off the past retail price.) Vases will be posted next…
